ABOUT US

D-Rail is a multiple award-winning partner for revolutionary infrastructure monitoring. With cutting-edge AI solutions, we provide everyday status information of any railway network. Get the relative condition of the railway, trend analyses and automated alarms; on tracks, track bed, catenary, third rail and ATC/ ERTMS balises.

SECTION

How do we create your virtual rail network routes? You first have to choose where on the map your railway begins and where it ends. That is the section that will be monitored. After that, collected position data and available GPS data is combined to create your rail network.

SUB-PARTS

We separate your rail network into sub parts of 10-20 meters. We monitor every sub part of your network, to give you daily trend analyses and predictions of where maintenance is needed. Get daily information about your most critical areas, relative to your entire network.

SWITCHES/ POINT MACHINES

Switches/ point machines are monitored from the trains dynamically. But they can also be fitted with the D-Rail monitoring system to access real time status information. Predict where you need maintenance – before it stops your traffic.

POINT INSTALLED SENSORS

Wheel detection, wheel monitoring and axle counting. The D-Rail installed monitoring system can be used to detect defective wheels, as well as a wheel detection unit.

2-3 SENSORS + 1 GATEWAY

The size of your railway network and rolling stock fleet, sets the sensor quality needed to monitor your network. The monitoring system can be installed on up to 10 trains on a 200 km commuter network, with a fleet up to 130 vehicles. Only 2-3 sensors and 1 IoT gateway is installed on a train. Installation time is about 40 minutes per sensor. Unless vehicle maintenance demands it, the sensor never has to be removed.

ALARMS

Real time high precision measurement and unique blockchain inspired data management provides data that, together with AI and our extensive database, is analyzed to trigger alarms on maintenance needs – regarding track geometry, overhead electric wire and balises.

How it all began – the innovation

When we first started, we tried to use data from existing sensors and systems at the customer. But we quickly realized that it would never work. To be able to measure the infrastructure from regular trains, there is a need for a stand-alone unitary system. That’s why we developed a whole new system that revolutionizes the industry. So that you can eliminate railway errors today, before anything unpredictable happens.

30 million data per sensor

Our sensors are developed with cutting edge technology to be completely train independent and non-intrusive. One sensor can pick up 30 million lines of data every day, which means that a train with three sensors can pick up 90 million lines of data each day. If two of all of these lines are inaccurate, it means that there’s a railway error somewhere. But the error can only be identified if the two faulty lines are combined with the 90 million lines from one or two days before. That’s what makes our solution outstanding.
